For TV and Film, Claire works as a writer, story editor and producer.

Currently, with funding from the Canada Media Fund (CMF), Claire is adapting her debut novel, At Last Count, for television.

At Last Count, released through Invisible Publishing in 2022, is a Toronto Star Summer Reads pick, a Zoomer magazine CanLit Collection pick, and a 49th Shelf Editor’s pick.

Claire was an Executive Producer on Zarqa Nawaz’s digital comedy series, ZARQA, on CBC Gem.

Commissioned by CBC and financed by the Bell Fund, the Independent Production Fund (IPF) and Creative Saskatchewan (with the Canada Media Fund and IPF funding the show and trailer development phase).

Claire has written several movies for television and streaming: Falling For Look Lodge for Neshama and Marvista (Hallmark), An Ice Wine Christmas (story by credit) produced in 2020 by Cineflix (Lifetime); and Cupids on Beacon Street for Incendo, seen on City TV in Fall, 2021.

For television, Claire has been an Executive Story Editor (ESE) on the first season of the one-hour drama Good Witch for Whizbang Films and Hallmark TV; writer and Supervising Producer on DHX’s tween comedy Make It Pop for Nickelodeon and YTV; writer and ESE on two seasons of CBC’s international sitcom hit, Little Mosque on the Prairie (CBC, Hulu); creative consultant on the Super Channel sitcom/sketch series, Tiny Plastic Men; writer on Degrassi, The Next Generation for CTV/Teen Nick (an episode of which earned Claire and co-writer Aaron Martin The Alliance for Children and Television Award for Excellence); head writer and producer for three seasons of the sitcom The Smart Woman Survival Guide for W/Cosmo TV; writer/ESE on Wingin’ It for Family Channel, Disney XD Canada, BBC (earning Claire a 2014 Canadian Screen Award Nomination for Best Writing in a Children’s or Youth Program). She has also written and story edited for many broadcasters such as BBC, CBC, PBS, Nickelodeon, Universal Kids, Family Channel, YTV, Channel 5’s Milkshake!, TVO, Knowledge Kids, and Treehouse.

For digital-first production, Claire is Co-Executive Producer/Co-Showrunner with Kirk Dunn on the interview series about faith and art called The Knitting Pilgrim Talks, funded by the Ontario Arts Council.

Claire was Story Editor for Truckstop Bloodsuckers, an award-winning feature from Mosaic Entertainment and for Kate Melville’s award-winning feature Picture Day .

Several of Claire’s other screenplays have received development funding from Telefilm and/or the Harold Greenberg Fund, including Plunder, an unproduced spec which Claire co-wrote with Dolly Reisman, which was developed through TIFF Studio and had its second draft funded by Telefilm, and Jail Bird, which was a semi-finalist in LA’s Chesterfield script competition
